I don't like Wrigley Field. I'm underwhelmed by it as a ballpark. I don't like the atmosphere, and I've always felt it's an overrated place to see a game. It's also stupidly expensive to even get into the place. And I dislike it for transportation-related reasons.

But it's probably got more history than any other sports venue in America, especially now that Yankee Stadium is closed. So much history at Wrigley. Not only with the Cubs, but with the Bears (as it was mentioned earlier). It's also in a billion movies.

Yeah, Shea's got history. But I wouldn't expect anything like what the Yankees did. Yankee stadium blows Shea out of the water in terms of history.

Looks like Dodger Stadium is probably now the third "most historic" stadium in baseball. Cool.

I think thats kind of the "feel" of it.

If you want to be comfortable at a baseball game. Don't go to Shea, or Fenway. Don't go to Wrigley or Yankee Stadium.

Go to Coor's. Or Camden. Or some of the new stadiums. The older stadiums are about the mystique and the team that plays in it. The newer stadiums are about patron comfort and looking nice.

First off. thanks for noticing that .
Secondly, in late 1978 i went to a red sox yankee game.
As i recall it happened to be the only game the sox played well in
amidst "the massacre". As a result in the 6th inning or so we had to leave as a result of the hot dogs and beer raining down on us. I was 11 my brother was 7. such NICE people huh ?

It is my belief that there is a certain contingent of people, whose personalities are very different then people like rick d by the way,
that basically rely on the yankees history for their own sense of self worth.
YANKEES YEAH ! THEY HAVE 26 RINGS AND SINCE I LIKE EM I MUST BE GREAT ! HOW CAN YOU WATCH THE METS JUST 2 RINGS LOL YOU SUCK

gee i dunno, just happened to be the team i latched on to as a kid.
and since i am not on the team and have no control or effect on the results,
aaron heilman sucking is not a reflection on me.
i simply love the game. not my fault you can only root for a winner.
btw whod you root for in late 80's
oh gee you were a met fan then
    what a surprise

So even if they stink it up and lose every game left on the calendar ,
I will be a Met fan.
At the least, Bosox, Cubs ,Phillies fans ought understand this aspect.

Shea equals the Kingdome, sure there was 1995, and the Seahawks of the 80's...Bo Jackson basically runs threw the seahawks......a lot of history in the kingdome, but nothing like Yankee Stadium, Fenway, Tiger Stadium, Husky Stadium ,

Shea stadium is a dump. Yankee stadium is outdated and needs to be replaced, many more memories at Yankee Stadium, you also have to realize that, yankee fans, great great grandfathers great grandfathers, frandfathers, dads, uncles...ect all went ot Yankee Stadium.... Shea stadium can only go back maybe 3 generations.

how is Shea a dump... I always felt Yankee stadium was a dump, but thats me. We all have our own opionions. Tho when I wer th Veterens Stadium the last year Philly was there it was a HUGE dump lol... they just decided "eh its the last 2 motnhs of the season who cares" It ws so bad it was amuzing. The Jumbo screan didnt work right and had missing lights and there was trash everywhere even at the beginning of the game... It was amusing.
