Most overexposed team in sports?

Red Sox, due to the man crush that ESPN has on them. I like Peter Gammons, but the dude cannot string more than 2 sentences together without having the words "Red Sox" in there somewhere.

I don't think anyone hates the Irish that much these days. They gained their exposure (and infamy) by being the most storied and successful program in NCAAF history. They're the Yankees of college football, but unlike the Yankees, I don't see them getting much exposure anymore. They get an occasional mention on national TV, but usually only if they played a game.

Notre Dame isn't even overexposed in my local market, which is saying a lot.

Uh, they have a national TV contract of their own. And yes, they are the most over-exposed team in sports.

Its the Yankees.

The Yankees have gotten basically as much press this season for losing as the Red Sox and Rays have for winning. Its really pathetic how much ESPN slobs all over the Yankees. I realize they do it to the Red Sox too, but I think its much worse when it comes to the Yankees.

That is a terrible comparison. Yankee Stadium is baseball history. Not just baseball history. AMERICAN history. That stadium has lived through a lot and seen a lot things.

What had Busch Stadium seen? Or RFK?

How about the Cubs? I am getting tired of hearing so much about a team that has done nothing for a hundred years.

I am not sure the Yankees can be considered as overexposed, since they are one of the most popular sport franchises in the world. There are people I know whose knowledge of baseball begins and ends with the Yankees.
