    Most overexposed team in sports?

Just wondering who thinks which of these teams I'm sick of hearing about are overexposed. While I know there are reasons for teams getting the exposure they do (Boston breaking the "curse," the Yankees playing their last season in the stadium, etc.), I think most would agree that some of these teams just get too much coverage in the media.

    What do you think?

I'm going with the Buckeyes. I don't think there's very many people out there who really care about this team anywhere near as much as the media would like to believe that people do. Even after getting spanked by USC, I'm still seeing them all over SportsCenter and in the news, and hearing about them everywhere.

Never though I'd EVER say someone was over exposed than the yanks but its really a tie between the yanks, the pats, and the sox now

Red Sox, due to the man crush that ESPN has on them. I like Peter Gammons, but the dude cannot string more than 2 sentences together without having the words "Red Sox" in there somewhere.

    agreed.

i gave the slight nod to the bosox, though the pats are right there with them

most overexposed non-boston team, in my opinion, are the cowboys

I'd go with Red Sox second and Pats third. The reason I pick OSU though, is because there are a zillion more people who are fans of, or at least care about, the Sox and the Pats. Also, those teams actually win championships, where OSU doesn't... and OSU can't even win big games. OSU/UM is also right up there with Sox/Yankees in terms of most overhyped rivalry in sports, I think.

I would have to say it is the Red Sox and Pats. But ESPN is in CT so I can see that.

Also, I agree with eto the Cowboys are bad too.

Also, most overexposed person in sports goes to Brett Favre. ESPN can't get through a monday sportscenter without five minutes of Brett.

That's a great idea for a weekly show.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are the most hated College Football team in America, yet everyone hates them because they say everyone likes them and they get an unfair advantage in the Rankings.

When they are good, they are scrutinized.

When they are bad, they are scrutinized.

    They belong on this list...

As for the most overexposed team in sports, it's obviously the Yankees. The only other team that comes close would be the Red Sox but do we remember the year after the Sox won their 1st Title... They missed the playoffs and it was nothing new. Nobody really discussed it.

The Yankees Win or Lose are on SportsCenter, ESPN, Fox News and MLB.com all day every day. Rain, Shine, Titles, Lossing Season. It doesn't matter.

    Justified Overexposure.

I would have to say from a Boston perspective, the Yankees and the Celtics. It is obnoxious how much they talk about them, over and over and over and over and over and over, and well, you get my point

I don't think anyone hates the Irish that much these days. They gained their exposure (and infamy) by being the most storied and successful program in NCAAF history. They're the Yankees of college football, but unlike the Yankees, I don't see them getting much exposure anymore. They get an occasional mention on national TV, but usually only if they played a game.

Notre Dame isn't even overexposed in my local market, which is saying a lot.

I agree. All exposure they've received the past few years has come directly from their hiring of a former patiot coordinator
