As I said before, the current Giants management is terrible. Their a failure, and this is one (relatively minor) example of why.

It is the same management since 1997 with the odd tweaks - I know no "boss" who would keep a "terrible" management team that long....

The Giants' management are the "same" as when they were successful - now if you want to say they are an average team which makes mistakes more often than not then I totally agree.I re-iterate again that THIS year they "planned" to be bad/average as they had a radical shift in strategy - removal of Bonds & a lot of veteran prescience (Morris/Klescko/Durham/Ortiz etc) & a declared shift towards youth.Every organization (except perhaps the Yankees & the Braves) goes in cycles of good/bad/good.

Some are better at reducing the" bad" to a minimum though.

This is baseball we're talking about, not the real world!

The only reason they were above .500 before is easy enough to see: Barry Bonds. The whole team was kept afloat because of him. What did they do to plan for his departure? Anything?

If that's the case (which I highly doubt, considering the statements that they've been making for the past several years) then their even worse then I've been saying, and if true and it's provable then the ownership should be fined.
Regardless... it's not. I'd recommend reading some of the local San Francisco coverage from this year. Based on what you've been saying here, it seems obvious that you're not informed (or have been misinformed) about what's been going on in San Fran.

So, the Giants just aren't giving Lincecum a break.

Pitching in the 8th inning, over 110 pitches, just gave up his third run in the game.

Finishes the 8th with 118 innings.

What are the chances Bochy sends him back out for the 9th? I'd put them at 50/50.

EDIT: There may not be a 9th. The Giants are visiting and losing.

    youre so right.
is dallas green involved in any way ?????
kinda reminds of Tom Seaver in the mid 70's.
He was the only reason to care, ya know ?

best guess is they want the hometown crowd to "fall in love" with him ,
but they already should be, right ?
Trying to ensure the CY maybe ?

    If i recall correctly
That same article re pitch counts and chronic arm fatigue, notes a statistical spike in injury/diminished performance
for VETERANS after 3 such consecutive starts.(125+ pitches)
