See the insanity of this discussion is almost everyone agrees that it's not a big deal that GBA was played but is a big deal people were forced into their seats for the playing of GBA. I agree with that, it was wrong.

Metsguy though is just arguing against God period. This is basically showing intolerance and a lack of respect for other viewpoints....the same thing he is asking for himself! He wants people to respect his opinions on God not being mentioned but does not care if many want that!

    I had a slight problem.

I had a major problem with opening and closing prayer at the DNC... I feel that is really crossing the line.

I think he's misguided in thinking the 'separation of church and state' means something to the effect that the 'state' must protect him from exposure of any kind to the 'church' when in a public setting??? Thats the only thing I can make from it really. The Yankees and MLB are a private entity. If they chose to promote and require prayers before each game and after every inning, they have the right. I suppose the Anti-trust exemption may turn sticky as thats really the only ties to the Govt.

Metsguy has the choice not to attend, or simply leave before the start of the song. Or he can simply ignore it, stand and remove his hat out of respect to the soldiers sacrifice for his freedoms and ignore the god reference. Really, its not that hard of a thing to do.

Lots of people in these threads discuss their view of God but Wow MetsGuy you must be the most intolerant person I've ever seen in my entire life.

Now THAT may be a constitutional issue seeing Govt. funding is used for these conventions.

Do you realize you're complaining about the complaining of a 13 year old however? I don't mind arguing/debating with him in here as maybe one day some of what he hears in here may sink in and he'll be more open to opinion of others. I do feel a bit weird however when he gets me tweaked and i'm about to post an irate rebuttal...I've cancelled response many times lol.

    Soldiers sacrifice for my freedoms?

You mean the soldiers during the Revolutionary War and the Founding Fathers and stuff right?

Does "Louie, Louie" entail singing and dancing? Yankee Stadium doing both, would surely be a sight to see...
