I agree with Poet. I really like Ozzie. He speaks his mind right or wrong. Aslong as he keeps winning it will be ok. How many of you had Chi even in the race at this point. THe thing about mariotti is that he has a reputation for critizing players/managers and then not having the balls to go in the locker room and face them. As far as the AJ thing. It just seems like alot of whining. Somebody said something about right and wrong. If you want to be the moral police for MLB go ahead. Is sliding hard into 2nd base to try an break up a DP right or wrong?? How about beaning a player in retaliation for something or because he hit Hr against you? Or what about stealing signs, that has been going on forever. Steriod use. Bunting to break up a no- hitter or steaing when you have a 5 run lead or 10 run lead. What about screaming something at the 3B to distract him so he drops the ball. what about the hidden ball trick? What about pretending to have a caught a flyball or pretending you are throwing the ball forcing a baserunner to hesitate? I could go on and on. Point is that their are alot of startegies that go on in baseball or any sport that could be right or wrong depending on your definition. Bottom line the umps blew it so stop whinig and quit trying to be the morality police in baseball.

I really have no problem with Aj's flop, it's completely legal, but the umpire's call was horrendous.

Ozzie is great. When he says things that gets people pissed, he's almost always right.

Agreed...the call was AWFUL. And I think part of the reason people ARE so up in arms about this is because it's AJ, who already has quite a deserved reputation for being a complete and utter dick.

As for Ozzie...I dunno, I think he's a good manager, but it seems like he simply cannot avoid blathering on and on and sparking up another controversy every time he sees a camera these days. I think he's started to buy in to his own hype and become a bit of a media whore. It always seem to be all about Ozzie when things are going well, and he's completely absolved of any blame when things aren't.

Who said any of that? Talk about comparing apples to oranges.*

*As if stealing with a 5 run lead is bad.
