    So far...

I'd also go with Lee in the AL. Mike Mussina is a very close second.

In the NL, there's no doubt it's going to Jim Edmonds if he plays even half-decent the rest of the way. I think he will, though I know he's not going to keep slugging .600 for the Cubs. Kerry Wood might be the guy if Edmonds returns to sucking.

Josh Hamilton does not qualify as "comeback" for this season, because he had a good season last season. Many of the players I'm seeing listed here don't qualify at all. This isn't "most improved player" award, it's a comeback player award. Ryan Ludwick? That makes zero sense. Maybe the "coming out of nowhere" award, but comeback player? Huh??

Yeah, I guess Wood or Edmonds makes more sense.

Kinsler, Sizemore, and A-Rod all played full seasons last year and had ok numbers. Quentin played bench so he really doesnt count because this year is his first full time starting year.
As m4rk6 said, I was discussing the MVP in that post.

For the comeback, I've already stated, Cliff Lee should be the runaway winner.

He spent the later part of the season in the minors both for poor play and rehabs. He was sent down for a month before the injury. After that, he was injured on and off, but essentially was also "on the bench" because Upton took the starting job.

How does Conor Jackson sound for comeback player? He was never bad, but has done well this year

He hit .284/.368/.467 with 15 HR and 60 RBI in 130 games last year. This year, he's on pace to hit .311/.390/487 with 17 HR and 85 RBI. He's improved, but that's expected from a guy entering his mid-late-20's. The Comeback award should go to a guy that was either injured the year prior, really ineffective, or barely played in the majors for a number of other reasons (like with Carlos Pena from 2006 to 2007). It shouldn't go to a guy that's just...naturally progressing upward.

It should be renamed to the Andres Galarraga Award.

Good point. If there was a break out player award, I would give it to Carlos Queintin in the AL, and Aaron Cook in the NL

I think Cook may even deserve a few Cy Young votes. However, i suppose Ludwick may contend for MVP

If Lee falls apart, does Mussina have a chance at the Cy Young?
