I don't think he has any chance of winning the MVP. Josh Hamilton's got RBI's and a good story.

Even if it turns out that he was the player that provided the most value to his team?

Good thing for Hamilton that those are the top 2 stats that writers look at

The performance of a player's teammates does not change the value that player provided.

As of right now, I think Lee is up in the short-list of AL MVP candidates. It's him, A-Rod, Kinsler, Sizemore, Hamilton, and Quentin. If I had to pick today, I think I might pick Lee, but, the rest of the season will determine it.

A-Rod and Kinsler aren't that good.

Kinsler is okay, but 15 HR, .319 AVG isn't an MVP to me.

A-Rod is having a weak season this year.

That's because you're failing to look beyond two stats. Ian Kinsler is batting .319 with a .378 on-base percentage and a .506 slugging percentage. His OPS+ is 134. He has 39 doubles. He has 26 steals in 27 attempts. He's scored 97 runs, 15 more than anybody else in the AL.

And what you're really failing to account for is the fact that he's a SECOND BASEMEN, and that kind of production out of a second basemen is EXTREMELY valuable.

A-Rod is having a weak season this year.
    Again...LOL.

    .315/.402/.599, 26 HR, 70 RBI, 16 SB (2 CS).

    Yeah, REAL weak.

Comeback means that his last season was cut short or just sucked.
Kinsler, Sizemore, and A-Rod all played full seasons last year and had ok numbers. Quentin played bench so he really doesnt count because this year is his first full time starting year. Mussina doesnt count because he pitched his first bad year in ages, but he came back to norm this year. Not really a comeback.

The 2 comeback players in the AL are: Cliff Lee (major surgery) or Josh Hamilton. They are really the only 2 players who came back. I would of thought Liriano would be here, but I have a feeling he is going to end up average anyway.

    Heh. That was for MVP.

I'd say Cliff Lee is the logical choice for comeback player. If Mussina hits 20 wins, he might be my emotional choice.

Ah but since when is the MVP about 'value' to a team ?

I think Josh Hamilton is AL comeback player of the year, he is phenominal after being away from the game so long.
