Oh, yeah, definitely among baseball fans. I just thought we were talking about the audience as a whole, which is why I asked.

If ESPN didn't have a gazillion channels they could fill one with enough solid sports programming for it to matter!

I propose two new ESPN channels:

    ESPN Favre
    and
SPN (pronounced "spen") the Sports Programming Network

I hate ESPN, they don't do enough about baseball. The other day I was counting, and the Pirates recap lasted 8 seconds while a Favre story lasted about 8 minutes. I want real baseball coverage!! I don't care about stupid basketball. they are still talking about it now. If O'Neil or Bryant breath, its news. I DON'T CARE ABOUT THE TEAM USA BASKETBALL TEAM!!!!!! Its cheating anyways, becuse they use big league players on the team, not college, while baseball uses college players. I HATE ESPN!!! However, I must watch it, as no other channel focuses enough on baseball......

Be patient. 4 months until the MLB Network, which almost everyone will get for free.

I think ESPN should have a channel devoted entirely to Erin Andrews and Rachel Nichols. I'd buy that for a dollar.

    Ratings...monster!

We don't get direct ESPN up here (ESPN Classics is allowed, but the main network isn't, although TSN basically IS the Canadian version...they even have the same intro to sportscasts). However, sports programming includes WAAAYYYY too much filler. And some of the filler...good lord...I think the WORST thing I have seen has to be whatever the name of the show is where kids play Madden against each other. What the Hell is THAT? And the fact these idiots actually START TRASH TALKING...you aren't DOING ANYTHING! SHUT THE F UP!

I have never heard of it. Does Comcast provide it?

MLB Network is a television specialty channel, primarily owned by Major League Baseball, set to launch on January 1, 2009 into over 50,000,000 homes in the United States.[1] Comcast, DirecTV, Time Warner and Cox Communications have minority ownership of the new network, with MLB retaining a controlling two-thirds share.

Every system that carries MLB Extra Innings will get it, but you don't have to buy Extra Innings for the MLB Channel.

Did that make sense to everyone?

I can't believe more people haven't heard about this.

With Time Warner Cable in NYC,we've had commercials about it for like a month now. It's set to begin 1/1/09.

Every Comcast subscriber can get MLB Extra Innings (with a converter box), AFAIK.
