I think it will depend on if the HOF voters look at his off field problems or not. On just numbers I think he deserves it but as a human being he doesn't.

The problem & I think it has been stated clearly is that HOF voters aren't computers but subjective human beings & vote accordingly - on the numbers McGwire should be in but as Voters clearly stated are those numbers for real ?

Even Sheffield was openly linked to BALCO,not per se as clearly as Barry but still used "the (it aint a steroid but it is a steroid) cream & clear" in 2002.

Also his personality (& that relation) with reporters WHO constitute the majority of the voters will be negative.After a time (or when the steroid drama & his "personality") gets forgotten then the numbers will be more important.

I see him a 5th or 6th timer selection.

You know something...that Ty Cobb argument is flawed as hell.

1) He got in a long time ago.

2) Cobb is so overwhelmingly a dunk shot, that his off the field issues can't keep him out.
