It's important to note that Sheffield was traded to Florida in mid-1993, then the next two years were strike-shortened, and then was traded away in mid-1998, so that sort of "exercise" doesn't really show how much he played for each team at all.

That's all well and good but... what were the memorable games for Sheffield with each team, you know? There is the series ring in Florida, but... I don't know. LA would probably be what most think of. Didn't he go deep in the playoffs or something with the Padres? I remember him fairly distinctly as a Padre, for some reason (Not that I think the Padres are or should be the team selected, I'm just saying...).

I think the combination of the ring and his best season with the Marlins should give him the Marlins hat. I wasn't going just by how much time he spent with the team, just showing that it's not as close as that 100 game method makes it seem.

To be honest, I thought he was with the Brewers a lot longer than that.

He probably made his biggest mark with the Marlins. He probably could've stuck around with the Dodgers if ownership didn't decide that Darren Dreifort deserved more money than he did.

point being, there's a lot of A holes in the hall of fame. just because he was a jerk and a poor sport in his early 20s doesn't mean he should miss the hall of fame.

Ok it makes sense now. Just wanted to point out though that i never said he didn't deserve to be in the HOF. I said I hoped he didn't get in. I even said he had good numbers. When you watch a player on your favorite team intentionally commit errors to force the team to trade him. Your going to naturally dislike that player. So yeah I hate Sheffield.

Lets see, intentionally commiting errors so the brewers would trade him. Calling the brewers management racist after Bill Spiers beat him out for the starting SS job, Accused the Brewers of being racist, again, after they traded a 39 year old Dave Parker for a young OF named Dante Bichette. Repeatedly had run ins with the fans, media, management etc. And thats just his short time with the Brewers. Me personally I think Sheffield is a piece of feces. He has had a good career numbers wise though, and he hasn't retired yet. By the time he is up for election, the whole outrage over steriods and such might not be what it is now. I hope he doesn't make it, but I won't be surprised if he did.

Not to change the subject, but what's wrong with Brewers fans? No offense, but that's a mighty big chip you've got there on your collective shoulder, and I honestly don't see what the cause of it could be. The Brewers have always had a successful small market franchise. I don't get it.

Well, you know, aside from the first year in Miller, where they were the most profitable team in baseball...but ol' Buddy boy had to 'prove' that the small market could never keep up, so they sat on the cash.

Given that he's *limping* to 500 and his numbers are steroid inflated to even get that far.....AND with his big mouth. I say no he won't make it, and after the first couple of times being turned down he'll alienate even more people by playing the race card.

I really doubt it...

maybe 30% chance of making it.
