    I value offense more than I value defense, mostly because offensive events are more easily quantified, while defense is a more subjective field to measure, and therefore defensive reputations are often based simply off of hearsay and the like.

    And, as I said in that thread, you failed, because you're wrong. Bret Boone = average glove, average bat. Bobby Grich = above average glove, above average bat. Ozzie Smith = best in history defense, average bat.

    That's why you should use a combination of defensive reputations and defensive statistics.

    And, you know what? When the two match up perfectly, chances are, it's true.
