MLB cancels season


In a press release yesterday, Theo Epstein announced the MLB will not be playing the rest of the season, and no World Champ will be crowned for the first time since 1994. The best record in baseball right now is the Giants, who have a 52-28 record, but, come on, they're the Giants. Theo said that plans are being made for the 2011 season, such as schedules, how many teams the MLB will have and how to get fans back.

The press release said they reasons for canceling the rest of the season include: everyone's feelings from the June 27th game of not being able to focus on baseball, the loss of fans, the danger of other "Baseball-haters" roaming around, the death of stars of the sport and others. Theo Epstein will have a press conference with two other MLB spokespersons on July 10 to answer questions. The location of the conference is secret and will only be revealed to media members for the safety of the commissioner, MLB officials and media members.

Epstein will also host another show, to answer fan's questions today on the MLB Network at 3:00 PM EST today.



At the show...

"Hello, this is Theo Epstein, commissioner of baseball, here to answer your questions about the recent events in the MLB. Let's take our first call, Sinclair from Richmond, you're on."

"Hey 'dere, Theo, I was wondrin' 'bout the absence of the two teams in Naw' York. Will they be replaced?"

"Well, Sinclair, we don't like to use the term replace, because you could never replace two amazing teams like that and all their history, but we are talking about the possibility of bringing in two new teams for the 2011 season, but not necessarily to New York. Let's go to our next caller in Santa Monica. Nick, you're on."

"Heyyy, Dude..... I wanted to ask about what the MLB is doing to catch Gestenate's remaining members."

"Well, pretty much nothing. I'm not even sure there are two more members, and if they're are, we don't have to do anything but let the FBI use up all YOUR tax dollars to protect me while I sim in my private pool of five-hundred dollar bills. By the way, that's all the time we have today, so i'll see you next time here on this un-named show."

MLB news pretty much stops there for a little while as the Feds go after the baseball-haters, which is their newest nickname. Allow me to introduce myself. I'm Chuck Luskon, former executive of the 2005 Champion Chicago White Sox. I resigned from my position after the 2006 season, and went to work on my own website, with three other people where we mainly write about MLB news and our opinions, but also have draft guides for Fantasy Baseball. I've loved writing for the website, and with thousands of readers, it's a great job. But i've missed the helping out a big league team, and miss my dream of being a GM even more. Right now, our website is taking a big hit from the MLB canceling the season, resulting in countless angry comments on the site and 513 cancelations of our e-newsletter in the past four days. I'm talking to my writers about selling while we can still get some what of a price (We made $356,000 last season, our first of charging for extra services) and doing something else. Right now my plan is to sell for around $500,000 and get a job as a Big League executive. I will of course update you here on the blog.

Gestenate members were lying


After another round of questioning on July 31st, FBI members found out that the members were lying in court when they said that Gestenate still had two members loose. They said they were lying to get the trial over with, once they knew they were cooked, and also to put more fear into baseball fans and executives. The members were then sentenced to five more years in prison for perjury.

MLB executives will now be able to meet in one location with the commissioner's people on the fate of the MLB, in a secret underground cave somewhere in Arizona. They will discuss teams for next year, what to do with the remaining players from the New York teams, and possibly a new logo for the league which will have a new look for next year.

MLB announces Expansion

Yesterday, MLB spokesperson Mina Mesterot announced to the media that the MLB will have 30 teams for the 2011 season. The teams will be in Tucson and Portland, Oregon, but nothing else has been decided about team management or info, but the expansion draft will take place on December 23rd, in Las Vegas, a central location between the two new cities.

Yeah, but they are about 100 miles apart. I may just reverse the decision and go to Orlando or Las Vegas or New Orleans. WHich would be best?

MLB Flip-Flops on Expansion

In a press conference yesterday, Theo Epstein nervously told the media that the Tucson expansion team would actually be placed in New Orleans, his face red the whole time. After he was done speaking, he braced himself for the questions of how dumb he was, but instead, they all began to giggle and ask about the expansion draft. The expansion draft will feature players from current MLB teams, as every team will have to drop one pitcher either in AAA or the majors, and the same thing for a hitter. Portland and New Orleans will take turns picking players, with New Orleans having the first pick because of a coin toss. The press conference was then ended once an angry mob from Tucson began attacking the building.

Brewers moving

The Milwaukee Brewers will be headed to New York for the 2011 season. The MLB decided to make them the team of New York because of their poor fan loyalty (just over 15,000 people per game) and the Brewers are the worst team financially, in profit per season and cash on hand. The team will move to Brooklyn, but the team name is undecided (hint, hint, we're up for suggestions.)


I'll be starting the actual baseball season soon, sorry for the nearly 3 pages of posts before that happens, but I wanted to have a good plot to start with, and it had to take about 2 pages. thanks for reading!

I thought you said Tuscon was moving to New Orleans? Why are Tuscon and Orleans in the draft?

It's official. My site is now being shut down, since no one wants to buy it. All companies I talked to couldn't find anything to do with it, but we'll leave our offer for the site in exchange for $450,000 open for 6 months in case anyone changes their mind. But this is not a bad thing at all. Because, well, first, I'd like to thank everyone who read this site for so long and followed my writing, but now, it's time to move on: I got a call from Mark Cuban yesterday, who wants me to be the GM for his team. What team? Well, when he missed out on the bidding in 2008 for the Cubs, he tried to get a team since then but no one was selling. But just last week, he got a call from Theo Epstein, who told him two new franchises were available. To make sure he didn't miss out on this chance, he bid $950,000,000 for the Portland Beavers. He knew me from my work in the MLB and now wanted me to be his General Manager, and I could even pick six guys of my own to work for the front office. I'm so excited, and I don't want my fans to miss out on this experience with me, so I'll be starting a new blog to talk about my GM experiences, (which will be on this dynasty thread). I'll be doing a few entries soon, but mainly I will be preparing for the expansion draft in December.
