I would hope that the 7th game lasts for ever, goes into extra's and stays tied. But really, it depends. I would be happy if either won

Well which team did you root for when it happened last year?

Both. I sorta leaned just slighty towards the Red Sox because my family all likes them, but either could have won.

BOTH? Good grief, that's pitiful...that's beyond weak. Pick a side, fence sitter!

    Re: Playoff Teams

    AL East
Tampa Bay Rays - Easy-ish schedule. Will have some trouble against the Yankees and Sox in September but will hold on to pull it out.
Boston Red Sox - 2 GB
New York Yankees - 3 GB

    AL Central
Chicago White Sox - The best team in the division. The Tigers should fight them till the end but they're strong enough to hold on.
    Detroit Tigers - 3 GB
    Minnesota Twins - 6 GB

    AL West
Los Angeles Angels - Not really any competition for the Angels and they'll have the best record in the AL.
    Texas Rangers - 13 GB

    AL Wildcard
Boston Red Sox - Barely squeek past the Yankees by a game for the WC.
New York Yankees - 1 GB

    NL East
Philadelphia Phillies - If they can get enough from Myers and Blanton they'll be well on their way. The Mets are too inconsistent (with a shoddy bullpen) and the Marlins will surpass them for 2nd place.
    Florida Marlins - 3 GB
New York Mets - 4 GB

    NL Central
Chicago Cubs - After an impressive four game sweep of the Brewers, the Cubs are the team to beat in the NL.
    Milwaukee Brewers - 4 GB
St. Louis Cardinals - 7 GB

    NL West
Los Angeles Dodgers - Picked them to win it before they got Manny. Now they're just even better.
    Arizona Diamondbacks - 5 GB

    NL Wildcard
Milwaukee Brewers - With the pitching they have, they're going to make the playoffs.
St. Louis Cardinals - 3 GB
    Florida Marlins - 5 GB

    Division Series
Angels OVER Red Sox in 5, Rays OVER White Sox in 3
Cubs OVER Dodgers in 4, Phillies OVER Brewers in 4

    League Championship Series
    Angels vs. Rays
    1. Angels, 4-1
    2. Angels, 6-4
    3. Rays, 2-0
    4. Angels, 12-7
    5. Rays, 6-5 (11 innings)
    6. Angels, 9-1
    Angels win series, 4-2.

    Cubs vs. Phillies
    1. Cubs, 5-2
    2. Phillies, 8-7
    3. Phillies, 11-6
    4. Cubs, 7-0
    5. Cubs, 5-4
    6. Phillies, 8-5
    7. Cubs, 7-5
    Cubs win series, 4-3

    World Series
    Cubs vs. Angels
    1. Angels, 2-1
    2. Angels, 9-6
    3. Angels, 4-3
    4. Cubs, 5-1
    5. Angels, 7-5
    Angels win series, 4-1

K-Rod ends his Angels' career by striking out Mark Derosa with a man on to win the series for LA.

I would hate it if the Cubs made the world series, o the White Sox. Maybe the Cubs can make the playoffs and Steve Bartmans brother can be at the game, and, well....

    Re: Playoff Teams

If the Cubs play the Phillies in the NLCS I'll die from all the bitching from the fans.

"Waaa we're from Philly we never win"

"Waaa we're Cubs fans we haven't won in 100 years"

Only thing worse "Waa we're from Colorado...what's baseball? Are the Rockies any good?"

Actually TB has a rough schedule ahead, they play 30 of 52 (17 of 27 in Sept) games on the road (where they aren't so good, .450 WPCT) including a 10 game west coast trip, and 22 vs Bos, NYY, LAA CHW and MIN.

Yeah but they play the crummy teams from their division alot as well. I just have faith they'll pull it out.

    Re: Playoff Teams

Actually they only play the Orioles and Blue Jays 12 times to end the year.

That's not a lot comparing the toughness of their other schedule. I have a lot of faith in the Rays as well I just don't think it will be their schedule that will give them the playoffs.
