    It's:

    Manny to LA
    Bay to Boston
Craig Hansen, Brandon Moss, Andy LaRoche, Bryan Morris to Pittsburgh

I'm glad LaRoche is out of LA. Hopefully Pittsburgh just inserts him into the lineup and lets him play.

    I think it's a good deal.

Manny had the BoSox distracted. Now they get rid of him.

Jason Bay with a David Ortiz and J.D. Drew protecting him? Kind of a scary thought.

Going to be an excellent race in the AL East.

Plus, though Bay doesn't have the offense that Manny has, he his an improvement on defense. When you factor it all up, and factor in the distraction negative value, this is probably an upgrade for the Bosox. Lots of their fans might not feel that way, but it just might work out that way. Then again, it might not.

    Re: Manny to the Dodgers?

anyone know how much money is involved in this???

Doesn't really matter this trade is awesome. I'm a huge Bay fan and even though he isn't as good as Manny offensively Bay's fielding and baserunning(and getting rid of Manny's attitude) makes up for it. Not to mention the 12.5 Million dollar difference in salary next year.

I like Bay so bye Manny. Similar production, less headache, but they did give up a TON to get him.

LA now has 5 outfielders on the roster for 3 starting spots. I see Manny obviously starting and maybe Pierre and Kemp/Eithier starting.

Manny certainly should help the Dodgers offense, and hopefully the big assclown will be motivated to play well these last two months since he'll get his wish and be a FA at the end of the season. Fortunately it appears LA didn't give up much to get him (so much for those Kemp "rumors" coming out of Boston). LaRoche will get his shot to either prove he can hit in the bigs or fall flat on his face.

I'm not. He was set to be the starting 3B this year till he got injured. Then DeWitt was doing too well to be sent down. He would have been the starter next year.

Part of the problem was the Dodgers. A bigger part was circumstances

LF Manny CF Kemp RF Ethier Bench Pierre Far end of the bench Jones

I dunno what this means, but the couple Yankee fan friends I have are very chatty all of a sudden

You know, Bay is probably better now than Manny is in just about every way. Manny may be marginally better offensively than Bay, but his offense doesn't make up for his lack of hustle, his lack of defense, and his attitude.

Yea, they said so on WEEI. The Sox also lose 2 draft picks, as the Dodgers will offer Manny Arbitration, and get 2 picks

Too bad we did not get Garbow as well. He is not the best, but he is goodish, and would help. Moss and Hansen will be missed.
