Lugo is not a very good shortstop. Even from 2,000 miles away I can spot that. Is Jed Lowrie doing anything RedSoxRockies?

Coco is a legitimate player though. Even if he splits with Ellsbury.

I like Jed Lowrie. He could be a good contact hitter with some pop and a legit glove. Even if he did not meet his expectations, he would be better than Lugo.

Sources say a deal is on the verge of being completed sending Manny to the Marlins for 3 players...

If this is true it will be epic. It will be the curse of the Man-beano.

No wonder we're hearing the "Red Sox are in serious trade discussions" today. After deciding to not play in a 1-0 loss to an arch rival in the opening game of a 3 game series and then not running out a possible hit to break up a no-hitter, I think I'd be in serious trade discussions to.
Wow, bottom of 5th sox down by a run with 1 out and Big Papi loafs it to first. Total disrespect for the game and the team

Seriously....no MLB player runs 100% on every ground ball. If you want to look at every at bat through a microscope of pessimism, you'll find what you're looking for.

Anyhow....its hard to believe all the rumors, just today I heard on WEEI that the Sox front office stated the media has blown the Sox/Manny relationship out of proportion, and although the Sox would look and entertain offers they are not in anyway greatly upset with the current situation. Now, I don't know if I definetly believe that, especially when you hear the opposite a few hours later.

Manny for Hermida or Bay...can't say I'd be thrilled with it. Its a significant decline in offense. I'd be more interested if a good young RP was included or prospect was included.

If they get Bay, it's not a significant decline at all. It's barely even a decline, plus it's a defensive upgrade AND Bay's a better bet for the future.

What are you talking about? Papi was running his heart out on that hit!

I sincerely hope we get Bay. I'm a big Pirates fan (they're my #3 team, almost #2), and I've liked Bay for a long time.

I'm not exactly sure what I've done to obviously pi$$ you off, but if you look at my posts through a microscope of antagonism, you'll find what you're looking for too.

And yes, ANYONE who loafs on a possible hit to break up a no-hitter is disrespecting the game. And ANYONE who loafs it to first in a 1-0 game is showing disrespect for his team.

It just so happens Manny did the former last night, and chose to not even play in a big game (even though, BTW, he's getting paid like a gazillion dollars to play).

I don't like Manny's attitude. You don't like mine. Fine, we'll both just have to deal with it.

    Re: Manny A Marlin?

In all seriousness (which is difficult here in the middle of watching the Angels play them), I think a deal involving Manny for Bay would be excellent for the Sox. I have a hard time believing that'll happen, simply because it would be so great. I don't think the Pirates are that cheap... but then, it is the Pirates...
