Yeah pudge was ranked a class A player laster year and is having a season similar to two years ago, meaning his 2 year value will be about the same.

Farnsworth was actually a class B last year and has has a better season this year than either of his last two.

I guess its a decent trade, Dosen't seem to help the Tigers a whole lot, there bullpen hasn't really been a major issue, but it does save them about, 3 mil or so.

Pudge is half the fielder he was with a below average bat. And well his glove is still good, I feel someone along the lines of Johnny Estrada would be a better choice.

A spec is a minor league prospect

Pudge is still better then Molina behind the plate but he's nothing to write home about at catcher anymore.

His arm is still one of the best arms behind the plate but he was splitting time with Inge all year. This is a filler for the Yankees I think it was a good deal on both sides. Farns isn't an elite reliever but he's decent enough and Pudge isn't an elite catcher anymore but he's decent enough.

    I think it's a good move.

It is still an improvement over what they had and it will help them...plus what one writer wrote a while back, forget the writer but was talking about how all-stars are all-stars when healthy (Griffey and Thomas in 05 i think)...they don't forget how to hit... This might motivate pudge to do better...and maybe a different environment will help them.

    Molina’s line to date: .229 .279 .307 - that’s a .586 OPS
    Replace that with Pudge - .295 .338 .417 - that’s a .756 OPS.

Even though Pudge is declining, that's still a nice offensive upgrade without giving up too much defensively.

I guess it comes out as a salary dump for the Tigers, and a rental for the Yankees.

Well Pudge sucks now because he's like 40 years old.

Farnsworth is one of the top-level relievers in the game tho.

Actually he's 36, or at least that's what his bio says, considering some of the recent controversies over the age of some players who knows.

But I didn't realize until I looked it up, but he is only like 400 hits from 3,000. I had no idea. Has a catcher ever gotten to 3,000??

WOW!!!!!! Sorry I am late but I was in the office. Wow! Fantastic upgrade for the Yanks. Yeah hopefully the bullpen won't be major. Marte will have to step up. Great upgrade though at the catcher position. He's batting .295 and really only needs to play out this year. After that Posada will be back and the Yanks can upgrade the backup catcher role next year.

    Major WOW!
