Thumbs up August 1st: Baseball Fan Strike

On July 11th, our first http://www.TakeBackBaseball.com Fan Walkout Day got thousands of supporters, and coverage in the news, on radio, and on national and international TV (including CNN).

On August 1st, we are going to strike again -- even harder -- and let Bud Selig, the owners and the players know that we fans are the real backbone of the national pastime. So take a few seconds, go to http://www.TakeBackBaseball.com, and sign our Fan Walkout Day pledgefor August 1st. And then get as many baseball fans as you can to do the same.

If we can get enough support, if we can get enough media coverage, we might just shame, embarrass and scare these guys into settling their differences -- and we might just save this season. So please go to http://www.TakeBackBaseball.com now, sign the pledge, and tell your 10,000 closest friends to do the same.

The players are talking ‘walkout,’ the owners are talking ‘lockout,’ and once again, the fans are just plain ‘shut out'. Fans Want OUR Seat at the Table—and we’ll walk out to get it! While crybaby owners and millionaire players fight among themselves, we’re coming together to demand it’s time for the Voice of the Fan to be heard. Pledge at http://www.TakeBackBaseball.com today to stay away!

    Thanks,

    The TakeBackBaseball.com Team

How can anybody take these seriously?

These things are jokes. Fan strikes. What are fans striking from? A strike is a stoppage of work, work where you get money, but fans PAY money and they don't work at all.
The whole idea fans won't come back is crazy. Does anybody else agree? Few do with me, but didn't they have this back in '94, and during the other 7 work stoppages? This is just continuous blowing of steam. I don't consider who does these a "fan", so why don't you call it a Haters of Baseball Strike? I've heard all these stupid online polls, but there's no freakin way baseball is gonna die from a 9th work stoppage. If it would die from a stoppage, it would have 5 or 6 stoppages ago.
I like baseball. Baseball has no problems with marketing it to kids, with marketing it to longtime fans, it just have problems with marketing to people jealous of salaries. I wish players salaries were lower, but when I watch the Yankees and Red Sox play, I don't think of 19 million (Jeter), 18 million (Ramirez), and 14 million (Pedro). I think of baseball. And if you hate baseball so much, why not simply promote football, not attempt to kill baseball?
