I won't go as far as say 'stole'. Kotch is a good young player who many feel has alot of upside and Tex is a rental. He has stated he will test the FA waters. Regardless, its a nice upgrade for the short term and I'm surprised ATL couldn't get more.

They had nothing to gain by keeping him though. With Hudson now likely done for the year, they had no shot at the playoffs. Kotchman and Marek are going to likely provide more value to the Braves than the compensation draft picks the Braves would've got for Tex leaving at the end of the year.
