    They're not.

Jeter is INCREDIBLY overrated, I mean, beyond the rings, what does he even have?

Rivera is an "eh" kind of closer at best. He gets saves because he played for a team that stole championship and horded money and free agents.

Great offensive stats for a shortstop.

Sure, it's not like he has a career 197 ERA+ or anything.

    1. 200+ HR, less than 2500 H= NOT great offensive stats
    2. What the hells is ERA+. I think anyone could invent a stat to make anyone look good (Such as my "John Maine Factor" ). I bet he doesn't hold up in Wins, ERA, strikeouts, the NORMAL stats.

ERA+ is ERA compared to the league average. A 100 ERA+ is average. So, yeah, he holds up in ERA. He's had 7, 8 including this year, seasons with an ERA less than 2. Billy Wagner, a "Hall of Fame closer" according to you, as had 3.

He's not a superb strikeout pitcher, but does have a K/9 slightly less than 9, and he walks very few, and gives up few hits, career WHIP of 1.03.

    And I don't know if you've noticed, but at the age of 38, he's got a 1.25 ERA and a 0.67 WHIP, with a 53:4 K:BB ratio.

Saying that Mariano Rivera is anything less than an elite closer is absolutely foolish and just shows how incredibly biased you are against the Yankees that any opinions you hold about them or their players aren't even worth taking seriously.
