    Holliday to the Mets?

What do you guys think about it? We already traded away the farm for Santana, and now we'd probably have to trade Fernando Martinez, and the rest of the farm to get Holliday? Is it worth it, and will the Mets do it?

Pirates are looking for a pretty hefty bounty for Bay too. It would probably cost just about the same for Bay as it would for Holliday.

To me, the only reason a team should make a big splash move like this is because it can put them over the top, and give them a real shot at big improvement.

I don't see how acquiring Matt Holliday turns the Mets in to a Series contender.

You get a dominant OF who is 4th in the NL in Batting Average. Talk about a lineup like:

    1. Reyes
    2. Holliday?
    3. Wright
    4. Beltran
    5. Delgado?

That would be a serious lineup

You still have a thoroughly mediocre pitching staff, though, and what do you have to give up to GET Holliday?

Holliday isn't a mediocre right-handed pitcher, so what makes you think the Mets would be willing to trade a top prospect for him?

Santana is a mediocre righty??? Look beyond wins to ERA. His ERA is like 2.84The team just doesn't give him run support.
