1 ER in his last 23.1 innings. Is it ok to rave about him yet? Sure he's not the ace of the staff yet?

Papelbon almost coughed it up (his tenth win) for him.
5, 5, 7, 6 and 5.5 those numbers say he isn't an Ace.
I'd say he the 4th starter behind Beckett, Wakefield (1.99 ERA in last 7 starts) And Lester.
You got it. With the walks and all...I like him, but you're never sure what you're going to get.
Flip side is, neither do the hitters. But you can get that out of a Buchholz (is he a nervous, offspeed wreck this inning? Or does he spot his fastball and strike out the side?).
He's good to have, but is he $100mil worth of pitcher? I guess on the Yankee payscale, sure...but otherwise, not yet. I'm hoping next year he really starts to shine (although his record, and some select stats, do reflect favorably this season).
Although I personally have been thrilled with Dice-K's progression and feel's hes every bit worth the coin spit out, he's not an ace. The walks for one, and for crying out loud he fell apart at seasons end last year. Can we at least get a full season from the guy before we label him an ace????
I think it's just a matter of time before Dice-K turns into just an average pitcher. Maybe the late part of this year or into next season...but he just can't keep walking THAT many batters and maintain an ERA of 1.49 less than his FIP. That's simply unsustainable. I think his ERA last year is what Dice-K is on a consistent basis.........I just don't buy him maintaining a .249 BABIP and getting away with all those walks for much longer. You never know in baseball..but I think Dice-K is just a solid..but not spectacular pitcher.
I like him, but he is WILD

2038 Padres-Matthew Graham Perfect Game 1-0 victory!
here's a good stat. He is tied with A.J. Burnett and Daniel Cabrera for most walks, but here's the thing
Dice-K 88.1 innings
A.J. 127 Innings
Cabrera 129 innings
that says it all my friends.
Lol... Seems like he is out after 100+ pitches and 5 innings every start.
