Doesn't a professor have better things to do than this? Maybe a cure for cancer or solving world hunger.
I think he just had an interest in baseball and wrote this more for people who like the game but are more casual fans. For the casual fan, things that we take as obvious, aren't.
I just read that. Kinda interesting. Try being a lefty and play SS. I did in little league for a game, hard to make that throw. I always wanted to be a SS when I was a kid, but I was a lefty. Options were limited, so in LL I played 2B, CF and P. I could make that throw easier from 2nd than from SS. I played 3B for a couple of games and that was the worst throw.
