    1) I'm a Met fan. I'm not a " 'Tek Homer".
2)He is a legend of the game and is certainly a surefire HOFer.

Jason Varitek is a HOFer? Joakim Soria is not deserving to be an All-Star?

    lol...

Didn't you say that Derek Jeter and Mariano Rivera don't belong in the Hall of Fame?

Varitek had 3 really good years, 2003-2005. He's been average at best every other year.

Please, be at least a little bit objective.

On reputation, Varitek is a HOF. On statistics, he's basically an average hitter (note the 101 OPS+). I would not call him a "surefire" HOF - he'd be very lucky to get in, unless HOF voters ignore his statistics.

for those of you who have a problem with Brian Wilson - The only thing bad about him is his ERA and I am pretty sure its high from his non save op outings. He allows walks but he always seems to get out of hit. Just look at his lack of blown saves/losses. He has really been good on a team that isn't.

Santana imo does not really have all star numbers this year.

My only problem with the all stars is that its nearly half the starters were BOS/NYY. Thats retarded imo.

On reputation? Don't think so. "he'd be very lucky to get in"... Ya **** right! Varitek shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence as the HOF. I don't think the Jorge Posada will get in, but his numbers are almost twice as good as Varitek's career numbers and he's won more rings.

Rings aren't important. A bad player could be on a lot of good teams and win a ton of rings.

    Ichiro
    Vladimir Guerrero
    Jason Varitek
    Greg Maddux
    Tim Hudson
    Tom Glavine
    Ivan Rodriguez

Now I here's my list of Young Players who will probably make the HOF
    David Wright
    Prince Fielder
    James Loney

    Matt Kemp
    Hanley Ramirez
    Jose Reyes
    Dan Uggla

    Look beyond wins and losses.

metsguy234: That list justs proves how astonishingly biased you are. Any list of future Hall of Famers that doesn't include Derek Jeter and Mariano Rivera doesn't deserve much credit.

And how in the world can you say those young players will probably make the Hall of Fame? Most have only a couple years of playing time under their belt. It's entirely too early to talk about the HOF cases of any of those guys except Johan Santana and Albert Pujols. I mean...Homer Bailey?

How is it biased? It includes at least 20-25 teams (including now, the Royals, Giants, and Orioles)

Where's Derek Jeter and Mariano Rivera? It's no secret that you hate the Yankees, and those two players should easily be in any conversation about future Hall of Famers.

Jeter=way overrated, sissy player, who has some sort of pantheon of evil Yankee fans who defend him
    Rivera= mediocre closer

See, that just utterly proves how incredibly biased you are to the point that it's not even worth taking your opinions on such matters into account.
