Back at this dynasty thing again: Resurrecting The Rockies: 2001 Onward
I actually just read both Juiced and Vindicated. It took me 3 days to read Juiced, and I read Vindicated in roughly 4 hours.
I hope to get around to writing some about both books on my blog, and if I do, I'll post links here.
Suffice it to say, I wouldn't suggest not reading, as I think it does have some important lessons in it, but Canseco's writing style and self-absorption does get pretty annoying.
He doesn't even name that many names in Vindicated, he just whines and whines and whines and whines and... (I think you get my point).
Do not, under ANY circumstances, buy that book.

Vindicated was pretty much Juiced retold with Alex Rodriguez, Magglio Ordonez, and lie detector tests.
I often felt like I was reading the same book.
Yes Boomer... I did three years ago. I looked for your review but it wasn't published yet. I wouldn't have bought it if I had read this review first. It really opened my eyes. Could you tell me if The Fountainhead is worth reading? That's a relatively new book. Same with the Bible. Any thoughts on those new releases?
don't know why you are being sacrastic. I just bought the book because I was looking for another one at borders and ran across the book along with Vindicated. I was interested because this book supposely changed the landscape of baseball and the book was just rambling nonsense. In all seriousiness, I thought the book was a pile of ****. One of the worst baseball books written,
next time, just don't post.
I do think that if it was never written, it would've taken a lot longer before the steroid issue got major attention.
The Bible's a rollicking good time for the first half, but then God has a kid, he settles down, and the lack of smitings and cruel tests of fate sorta cause it to drag for awhile. Doesn't help that, while pops was an Old Testament asskicker, JEsus is more of the 'live and let live' type, like John Lennon, but with less Yoko, and the ability to conjure wine (you'd think with all the wine there'd be some wicked parties, but not so much...another disappointment). Ending's pretty gory and sweet, but it takes a LONG time to get there.

You insist that there is something a machine cannot do. If you will tell me precisely what it is that a machine cannot do, then I can always make a machine which will do just that! -J. von Neumann
