    Mark Buerhle Trade Rumors?

July 15, 2007- The last place Chicago White Sox have been the center of attention lately after rumors swirled about Mark Buerhle reportedly demanded a trade. The White Sox are currently 12 games out of the AL central and have given up on a possible playoff run much like many other teams at this point of the season. Teams reportedly interested in Buerhle are the Yankees, Red Sox, and Pirates. Buerhle has stated on many occasions that he wanted to leave Chicago and join a perennial playoff contender. Buerhle has 8 wins on the season with a 3.72 ERA. Currently the Pirates are in the best position to acquire Buerhle with young players like Nate McClouth, Tom Kitchen, Craig Lawler, Zack Duke, and Ian Snell all being possible trade candidates.

    Re: Moving Out:The Pittsburgh/Portland Pirates (2004)

I don't know if I can pull the trigger guys, but here's the current offer.

    PIT Trades:
    CF Nate McClouth 82/86
    1B Craig Lawler 52/86
    SP Zack Duke 84
    RP Tom Kitchen 75/94

    CWS Trades:
    Mark Buerhle 95

I'm just not that sure if I can give up Kitchen. He could possible be a starting pitcher anyway, and he has a 99 MPH fastball. (He's kinda like Joba Chamberlain)

*Note these are with Commish mode on.

Do you want help now or possibly later?

Hard to leave Pittsburgh if the team is winning now. What with good attendence and all.

Yeah I think I'm gonna keep Kitchen and trade McClouth and Duke for prospects, then put Kitchen in the rotation for spring training to build his endurance and put him on a pitch count for 2008.

    Yankees Win Buerhle Sweepstakes!

July 24, 2007- The Yankees have Acquired Mark Buerhle and Carlos Lee in a blockbuster deal for young 22 year old phenom Melky Cabrera and 3 undisclosed top prospects. This huge trade should give the Yankees a big advantage over the Red Sox in the race for the AL east. The Red Sox reportedly didn't want to give up there future for Buerhle, but the fact that Carlos Lee is also included will hurt the Red Sox a bunch this season. The Pirates stated that they pulled out of the trade for budget reason which leaves many to speculate what they could be doing with their $100,000,000 they have in the bank. But the Pirates organization has refused to comment on the situation and stated that they are saving money to resign their top players.

    Re: Moving Out:The Pittsburgh/Portland Pirates (2004)

    July 2007 Review

Let me start off by telling you about our trading deadline move...

    HOU gets:
    Zack Duke
    Nate McClouth
    Brad Eldred

    PIT gets:
    9 unnamed prospects

Yup, we got rid of Duke, and 2 other who were basically rotting on the bench, but don't let that fool you, in commish mode there actually both 85 overalls with high peaks. So we lose Duke who's contract was expiring at the end of the season so that gives us more money to throw at a new Gomes contact or a free agent designa... ummmm I mean extra bat to put in the line-up.

Not much to say about the offense, it just kept on rolling like usual. Bay was hitting bombs and so was Gomes. But the one surprising thing was how Kendry Morales has been having a power surge and now has 15 homers which is the most I would've thought he would have all season.

    Pirates Offense Up To July

Now let's talk about our pitching. Joaquin Benoit returned to the rotation in mid-July and the "Wolverine" came back with a vengence. In his 4 starts since his injury he has 3 wins and has only given up 8 ER, which is great since we got rid of Duke and Snell has really stepped up posting a sub-4 ERA. Mariano is still pitching well but it looks like Capps will move into the closer role come next season.

    And Here's The Pirates Pitching

Tom Kitchen to Make MLB Debut in Place for Snell

Tom throwing his patented fastball in AAA Indianapolis

August 1st, 2007- Tom Kitchen the Pirates first round draft pick in 2007 will make his MLB debut in place for the injured Ian Snell this week. Kitchen is a 17 year old from Oak Park, IL who was a starting pitcher for his high school team and also did a little relief work causing his endurance to drop a bit over time. Tom is known for his blazing fastball which has been clocked at 99 MPH, and has been ripping up AAA hitting down in Indianapolis.Tom appeared in 23 games pitching 40 innings with a 1.99 ERA and a .188 BAA. Tom will have a strict pitch count of 60 in his debut and will have Shane Youman as his caddy out of the bullpen. Kitchen is known for his lack of control but is scheduled to make 2-3 starts in Snell's absence.

If he was a SP how did he drop to a RP in AAA?

Well he started some games in HS but I drafted him as a RP. It shouldn't be that hard converting him though, I've did it with Benoit.
