Playoff Resignings

I resigned Jack Wilson for 2.5 mil. thru 2008. He had a Gold Glove season and there was no way I could let him go.

I also resigned Russell Branyan for 4.05 mil. also thru 2008. The guy had a Cinderella season and hit 44 HOME RUNS! Thats just incredible for him since he was out a month.

Off-Season Signings

Players that were released Tike Redman, Craig Wilson, Ruben Mateo, Jason Boyd, Ryan Vogelsong, Willis Roberts, and Josh Fogg.

Oliver Perez was given a 7 year extension for 2 million a year.

Jason Bay was named Rookie of the Year.

Jack Wilson won the Gold Glove for his play at SS.

Juan Pierre is Now a Pirate

Jason Kendall has been traded to the Marlins for Juan Pierre. Juan Pierre will be our full time lead-off hitter. Pierre stole 110 bases last year and was a consistent .300 hitter. This is a good deal for use now Ronny Paulino can start and we finally get a lead-off hitter.

Player Signing

We picked up John Olerud and gave him a 1 year deal. I figured it would be a good deal because he is a fan favorite so he'll bring people to the stadium, and Kendry Morales is not quite ready for the bigs so it will give him time to develop.
