Hank Steinbrenner laid down this idiotic tirade. Blamming the National League and 130 years of major league baseball for an injury to his Wang.

Now, the Mets are blamming their Willie for a sub .500 record from a team expected to cruise to the World Series after adding Johan Santana.

Sounds as if the baseball men in New York are getting a little envious looking at all of those sky scrapers rising up on the sky line.

well cashman i dont think is at fault for the yankees but omar is DEFINATLY at fault for the mets.

Cashman was told to sign giambi and I THINK pavano. Jeter's contract is rediculas but at the time it was the going rate. F/A is getting thinner and thinner as people trade and bring up their own players na dsign long term deals.

Omar giving up the farm was nuts. glavine won 13 games for them last year. even if santan won 20 which nowadays seems rare thats inly an increse of 7 games. Santana was NOT the end all for the mets. and Omar emptied EVERYTHING they had for him. would be nice to have gomez in a corner OF spot right now wouldn't it.

the reyes #1 gome2 #2 could have been AWESOME. then put wright and beltran and get a 1B or another 25+ HR OF and they could have been a good team. unfortunatly I think they set the team back 2-3 years getting santana.

And who would replace Santana in the rotation?

IRL GMing isn't as easy as BM GMing...it's actually hard to aquire good players IRL.

Yeah, look at what the Yankees have been getting back on their salary investment: playoff appearances and division championships year after year for nearly two decades, and the franchise being among the most profitable in any sport in the world. Someone on here was arguing a few weeks back that Wang was the best pitcher cause he had the best w/l record. I guess he won't be the best pitcher anymore
