They don't really have room to expand Doubleday Field, I don't think. It's tight quarters there as it is. Besides, expanding the ballpark would kinda screw up the historic feel of the place.

Rain out....sad, though it doesn't really change my opinion.

As for screwing up the historic feel of the place...eh. Are ticket prices at 1860 levels? Or even 1960? Are concessions? Are the players playing without modern equipment and uniforms?

Doesn't make sense to lay all the blame on Selig. Neither the owners nor the players' association wanted the game to continue.

If he had any balls he would find a way to keep it. Or with all the money he(and all owners) made from steroids he could help support the hall

And most of the teams that have played in the game only play their regulars for 1 or 2 innings.

Yep, which to me makes having MLB teams play the game pretty pointless. Why not just have a game between minor league teams, since that's what it ends up being anyway? Or maybe an old-timers game... yeah, get a bunch of 80 year old guys and let them play in their vintage uniforms and historic equipment! That would keep it in line with the tradition!

I don't buy this. There are some things that rational human beings with common sense understand as unavoidable. Modern equipment and ticket hikes are sort of unavoidable, nothing we can do about that so we sort of dismiss that and forget about it.

Top prospects in different vintage uni's would be pretty cool. I love that kind of cr@p. I'm a sucker, I'd bite.
Throw Bucholz out there in a 1975 double knit Sox uni.
