    It's been a long time since I've seen a team stumble at an end of a game as badly as the Lakers did in the final three games against the Celtics. Poor shots, poor defence, poor coaching. They hit the trifecta.

    Um, they committed 5 fouls in the 4th quarter ( 2 by Davis in the 1st minute), yeah they shot 5 3s but 4 of them were by Ray Allen, and thats what he does.

    They did Pull all the starters with over 4 minutes to go, and it was LA not Boston that committed the flagrant foul in a 30 point game.

    Oh don't get m wrong, as I am happy for the Celtics and their fans. I just think that running up the score was a little run, and it pissed me off a little bit. They were shooting 3's at the end of the game, when I thought they should be running the clock out and going for layups. Seems like a lot of the Boston teams like to run up the score (Pats and Celts)

    Again, don't get me wrong, as I am happy for the Celtics and their fans. I am making ZERO excuses as which to why the Lakers lost the series. Bad defense, bad coaching, bad execution overall - they were soft, and they were manhandled in every aspect of the game!

    Good job Celtics;

    Boston fans are horrible - period. Immature, spoiled brats. They don't derseve a champion, but KG and Pierce did. Too bad it had to happen to such jerks of fans.

    Boston fans are great. Among the best in the world. As a Celtic fan, please excuse me while I take a moment to celebrate a fabulous win, and a great team ..................................... Ok, thanks. What is the best thing about this Boston championship;

    A) Watching the Celtics complete the greatest turnaround in NBA history, or

    B) Watching the Lakers take an a$$-whipping of epic proportions, exposing them as a pretender (sub-category question...... Better watching the Fakers humiliated in Game 6, or their historic meltdown in Game 4?), or

    C) Enjoying the bitterness and sour grapes of the haters (and fans of the losers--see above posts).

    It's a wash, pretty much, I would say. All three are enjoyable beyond belief.

    For all of those who made statements like "The Lakers WILL win", and the ridiculous "It will go seven games because the NBA wants it to". Tell the truth .....dont you feel rather foolish right now?

    So, I'm supposed to feel foolish for thinking the other team would win? Why, exactly, is that? Tell ya what...I'll feel foolish for that right around the time you feel foolish for acting like a frontrunning, egotistical ***.

    Yeah, and the difference is that most people, those with any sense, dont say things like "The Lakers WILL win"..... or "The Celtics WILL win". Thats the point. Not to mention the ridiculous theories of the league manipulating the series so it will go 7 games. Look at the stats on 7 game NBA finals over the past 20 years or so. The facts are that the finals going 7 games is a very rare occurrence these days. but don't let the truth get in the way of a good nonsensical theory. THATS the point. Making statements like that just make one look foolish.

    If history has proven anything, its that anything can happen in a sporting event. As for being "front-running"......my guess is that I have been a fan of the Celtics and Red Sox for longer than you have been alive, Arctic. I endured the lean years (no championships from 1986-2004) without the acrimony you now display. So please forgive us poor Boston fans if we celebrate our titles.

    And yes, destroying the Lakers gives it special meaning..... much like humiliating the hated Yankees with the comeback from 0-3 in 2004 is particularly pleasing.

    Too bad you non-Boston fans dont display the grace you claim that others lack.

    Believe what you choose, Belial......But I have never seen more fervent, knowledgeable, and yes, classy fans. Boston is a fantastic city as well.

    Boston fans were less assholish when the Red Sox weren't able to get it done for about a friggen century. Then the Patriots started cheating, the Red Sox got lucky and now Boston fans are smug - couple this with the huge Bostonian ego and it's a digusting combination that people around the country hate.

    And yes, most people make predictions, and what is friggen wrong with that? The fact remains that in a short series, the poorer team can often win, and timing is everything. If LA and Boston played a month ago, LA probably wins in 5 games. Boston was not the better team but they won. People are supposed to feel foolish because some freak thing happened? Right. Time to pass that pipe, buddy.

    Re: Celtics v. Lakers

    You are quite wrong Belial. Again. The Celtics, by any measure, were the better team. I dont see how anyone could rationally conclude anything else. Even the lakers say this. As do many of their fans. Being objective, its the only conclusion that can be reached.

    Again....there is nothing wrong with thinking.....THINKING.....a team will win. Making a prediction to that effect is fine. On the other hand, some people act like they somehow KNOW which team will win. And yes, they look foolish, whether they feel foolish or not.

    Pipe? Sorry, I dont drink, smoke, or take drugs. You keep the pipe, and take solace in that. Perhaps that will help heal your hurt feelings.
