Why are you leaving out on-base percentage?
Church - .365
Reyes - .352
Wright - .378
Also, see my post above with the VORP's and why Reyes leads the Mets in that category, with Wright second and Church 4th.

I don't care about VORP or whatever it is, lol.
I didn't mean to leave out OBP, but I think that just further strengthens my case anyways. Sure, Wright has a slightly better OBP at the moment, but even with the factored in, my other stats show that when healthy, Church was indeed carrying the Mets.
Well, it gives more context to the discussion, because it compares players to those at their position. Jose Reyes's offense out of the shortstop position is more valuable than Ryan Church's out of a corner outfield spot, because shortstops, as a whole, are worse offensively.
I wouldn't say carrying. One of their best offensive players, though, yes.I didn't mean to leave out OBP, but I think that just further strengthens my case anyways. " hey guys guess what ?? we just lost 13 in a row but were still wayyyy out in front of the rest of the division !! how cool are we ??? "
the fire died right there. it hasnt come back.
see "come from behind victories" ( or lack of them )
for evidence of a team that doesnt seem to mind rolling over anymore. :

" this is the best Mets team i have ever seen. and i been watchin since the early 70's. The way the are playing right now Im tellin ya , i really do think they are better than 86 . Cross your fingers for NO Catatstrophic injuries and we are truly in the hunt for at least 4 years..were talkin possible dynasty here"

Ya know... This is probably one of the best Muts team's ever... Sad.
'06 RBI's
Wright - 116
Beltran 116
Delgado - 114
(* 99 was the only other season Mets had 3 players 100+ RBI)
07
Wright 107
Beltran 112
DelGado 87
(40 rbi less between them)
08 ...
etc
I am starting to think that hiring
Charlie Brown as a motivational speaker
for the bullpen was not such a good idea.

Wow, the Mets are friggin' pathetic.
We gotta trade Wagner, Perez, and Delgado and fire Willie...
]
I love it when fans call for a guy to be traded after 3 bad games.
"What's Wrong with the Mets? "
Well, for starters, they are the Mets.![]()
Guys, not only are key players underperforming, they're playing without that competitive fire. They need a new manager who can inspire them to play. Willie is a good manager and will get a job soon after being fired but the team has quit listening to him
It is? How so?
Possibly. He's being doing well since mid-May. But, you're not gonna find a take for Delgado.and Carlos have nothing left in the tank
Dude has a ton of potential, as he's proven before, but just has major issues harnessing it.and Perez never had anything in the tank to begin with.
My comment was really just about Wagner.
