I know they are going to start discipling floppers, but how about actors like Pierce.
Good win, but man it was trying for a Kirk Gibson moment.
    Just one thing.
It was the first game of what is going to be a long series.
And he just may have spent all the Celtic magic on that "severely sprained knee"

It's POSSIBLE he wrenched it, and it felt a lot worse than it was immediately after. That does happen on occasion.

I was at the game and I can attest that Pierce was hurt. I saw Bill James stab him in the leg with a sabermetric ruler.

orrly? Ive honestly never seen or heard that, infact Ive heard and seen just the opposite, Unless your simply refering to the fact hes played at least 79 games in 8 of the last 9 year ..

Do I think Peirce faked the whole thing? no? But he did greatly overreact, he went down and spained his knee, Im sure it hurt, alot. and Laying there it started to Hurt even more as he began to think he blew he chance at the title and ****ed up his knee. During a regular season game i bet he woulda never left the court and tried to stand by the time he made it to the sideline

Also as a note, watching that game you kinda forget how freakish the physiology of basketball players are. Watching that over and over in super slow motion, its amazing the way is leg torques and bends when he hit the ground.

    After games two .

-- Leon Powe did exactly what KG should have been doing all season, I mean if Powe can do it, KG should be able to also.

-- Rondo player 42 minutes and looked great, Why he dosen;t play 42 minutes every game I have no idea. Not even Doc Rivers really know.

-- Back to KG, why, everytime he runs a pick and roll does he float backwards for an 18 foot jumper? does he not realize how good he is or that he 7 foot ? he need to roll to the basket exaclty like Gasol does, that why Pau lit the Cs up early.

-- For all that was made of the foul/FT thing look at teh number (not counting the last to gimme fouls) it was 26-21 if favor of the celts( the difference as game 1), yet boston went to the line 24 more time, showing that part of the issue is the Lakers lack of agressiveness, which killed them in the 3rd quarter when boston was in the penalty at the 7 minute mark and the Lakers didn't draw another foul.

    Now to game 3:

-- when the home team wins the 1st two in the 2-3-2 format, they win the sieres more than 90% of the time.

-- I think the Lakers will win, the Celts only hope is that Kobe goes totaly me-ball in the game and attempts between 40-45 shots (sure He'll put up 50, but odds are the whole team will be licky to reach 90)

-- The sieres will have to come back to Boston (David Stern and ABC say so) if the celts go up 3-0 or 3-1 the NBA will have JacK Nicholson, Jeannie Buss and Jerry west Ref the remaining games in LA.

Doc Rivers has never really impressed me much as a coach, so I'm not surprised he's not playing Rondo more, DESPITE the fact he CAN play that much, and his backups stink. And yeah, I don't know what's been going on with Garnett in the playoffs. Maybe he's hiding an injury, or something, but he's been playing very passively for awhile now.

Very impressed with the Celtics overall, though all you Boston fans have to admit you were probably **** near ready to throw a rock through your TV at the end of Game 2.

No KG has done that all year .. its really nothing new.. but still . .

And really its just a numb feeling, the Cs are so good but they just never try to kick a team when they are down ..

IIRC, the Pistons did the same thing in the Eastern Conference Finals. It looked like they just "forgot" to call timeout. Maybe the NBA has told the coaches that if they turn the last minute of every game into 20 minutes of timeouts and foul shots, there will be repercussions.

Or maybe the fact that with the current TV time outs games are taking in the Area of 7 hours to play and not ending untill 3AM, meaning coaches are either sleeping or waiting for yet another TV timeout.

I don't think anyone has EVER accused Doc Rivers of being a good manager of anything.

Kobe is the man. You're right, the game never should've been close had Kobe and the rest of the team hit their free throws. Kobe will have a game or 2 where he misses his free throws. Looks to me like he has mental lapses out there and when he is struggling from the line he seems to get so frustrated that he loses focus on trying to make the free throws. But with Kobe the assassin, the Lakers wouldn't be stopped at the end of the game (crunch time).
