EPIC!

Pierce makes a FOUR-point play at the start of the 3rd. Then goes down HARD. He's CARRIED off the court. I'm thinking he's done for the SERIES. With Pierce in the locker room, Kendrick Perkins limps off the court. When it sucks, it really sucks.

Ten minutes later (3 minutes of game time), P-Squared is back on the court with a sprained knee and a little black brace. The Celtics actually pulled together and went on a 6-0 run with Pierce out. Then PP sinks 2 threes to help the Green turn a 5-point halftime deficit into a 4-point lead going into the 4th quarter. Pierce is 5-for-5 with 15 points in the 3rd quarter. SWEET!

The 4th was a nail-biter, but that put-back slam by KG with about 2 minutes left was AWESOME.

Kobe gets no field goals in the last 11 minutes of the game. And the Lakers forget to foul with about 50 seconds left to let the game slip away. Whee!

Most of the press has the Celtics as dogs.

MY thoughts:

--I was impressed at the D that Allen played on Kobe, starting Allen on Kobe make me think we will seem more of Posey this sieres.

--When Cassel played neraly half the 4th quarter i thought i was going to be ill, he takes way to many me-first bad shots.

--KG HAS TO GO TO THE RIM, in the 4th he refused to and floated away from the hoop and missed 9 straight shots, when the Cs should have been applying the knockout.

--Kobe looked very Lebron like, for all the talk he was 9-26, the Cs defense IS up to the task, he had just 1 easy bucket the entire game and was an absolute non-factor the 4th quarter.

Kobe got d/ed up all night and I loved it. If how the Lakers handled the end of the game is any indication how the rest of the series is going to go then they are in big trouble. I can't believe they waited so long to foul Allen at the end, and on top of that, that is the one guy that you have to have a body on. You CANNOT allow him to get the ball in a situation where you have to foul.

Just a side note, if the home team does win every game then the Celtics win it in 7

We all know that the NBA will make this series go 7 games, because they don't want to miss out on all that extra revenue.

Boston played good B-ball, though, yeah, I was also puzzled about KG's lack of aggressiveness inside. Good 1st game, we'll see what adjustments everyone makes.

Its not so much that the press had the Celtics as the underdog in the series (although thats true), Vegas made the Lakers favorites for the series. LA LAKERS -165 BOS CELICS +145

One game in where it was obvious he took took long looking to get himself involved the offense it proving the Cs defense is up to the task? Wow, just wow. Lakers take game 2 102-95

Took too long to get involved ? He tried, or was he just waiting for OT?

He was 5-8, 12pts in the 3rd quarter, yet by the 4th the Cs totally shut him down going 1-6, 4pts didn't even try to get to the Rim once in the 4th and only made it there once in the 3rd.

Or maybe it because this is reminiscent of he two other underwhelming games Vs Boston this year (6-25,22pts & 9-24,28pts), both loses.

Kobe's schtick has always his ability to take over in the 4th quarter, yet in 3 games vs Boston he's a combined 4-16 10pts.

Pierce has a history of exaggerating injuries as he did last nite

I think he was trying to audition for a couple roles in movies to give him something to do in the offseason

The NBA ranks at about the same level as pro 'rasslin in my book. And FYI for the typical fan of both "sports", a book is one of those things that has pieces of paper glued into it, and they have words on 'em, and everything.
