Eh, I doubt it'll be all the same day.

I know i'm not one who backs away from many arguments........but there are some that are so ubsurd they leave really no other sane option. John Smoltz being called anything but great is one of them.

Smoltz sucks? WTF? I don't think so. He's one of the greatest pitchers of his generation, and still performing at a high level when healthy. He's also been pretty durable throughout his career IIRC.

I've been a fan of Smoltz for quite awhile. It'll be sad if this is the end, but it would be even sadder if he can't still sling it, and tried to come back anyway.

And, yeah, Smoltz has been a great pitcher for awhile.

One of the best. If he remained in the rotation his whole career i would say 260 wins atleast would not have been out of reach

Saves aren't quite as bad as wins. I mean a lot of saves and alot of wins are a good thing, but they can't be used to compare pitchers against each other most of the time. With all that said, 200 wins and 200 saves would still be quite the accomplishment.

    Particularly in one-year periods.

Obviously you need to be a good pitcher to accumulate 200 wins over your career.
