Check them out, and you'll immediately understand.

At 1B he shows as .993 lifetime, LF 1.000. My playing him in LF is the first time he's played this position since 2000, and so far he's perfect.
Of course, that could just mean he's not getting to any hits because he has no range. That's the problem with the error stat, and using it to judge fielding - you can't make an error if you don't get to the ball, and I'd rather a player say, get to the ball, and drop it, leading to a single, than a player not get to the ball and have it roll to the wall for a double or a triple.

Unfortunately, Mogul gives you little to go on for judging fielding besides the traditional stats and the ratings.

HoustonGM: I'm sure you're right. It's still interesting the game gives him an 85ish fielding rating.

I don't have any numbers, and I could be remembering wrong, but I think back in 2005-2006, around then, he was a decent to very good fielder, although he's surely dropped off now.

But considering the game is a simulation, don't let any real life biases get in your way, as I'm sure you know. If he has an 85ish fielding rating, he's generally going to be a pretty good fielder.

Something tells me Boston is going to live to regret some of those trades.

And cut a guy some slack on the Rule IV draft. I can count in English, French, Spanish, Swedish, Danish, German, and Arabic but not Roman

I'm pretty sure he's never been a good fielder. He's just overrated because he's tall and saves "his teammates from throwing errors" and all that trash.

Oh no Theo! What are you doing!? GAH!!!!!!!!!

Alright, 7.5 back as we hit the turn. Let's hope that you can ride a hot streak while Detroit and Minnesota beat each other up.

I love reading your stuff, hopefully the Indians can get their bats going, and Grady or Hafner comes back, maybe Betancourt should come back, Graves isn't performing very well.

There's no way that Ramirez hurts Hafner in any way in a fight. If there's ever a rematch, my money's on Travis.

Since when is saving his teammates from throwing errors a bad thing?

    His place in Zone Rating:

    2008: 20th
    2007: last.
    2006: 2nd to last.
    2005: last
    2004: didnt play enough.
    2003: 16th

Okay, maybe he never was, like I said, it was just something I vaguely remember hearing.

I never said it was a bad thing. I just said that people always said "Oh, what are you talking about? Sexson is a great fielder, he only makes a few errors and saves his teammates from throwing errors because he's so tall!" It's annoying.

    Re: A Fresh Start (Indians)

You may have read of my recent computer problems. I highlighted them here.

The good news is I have a new computer which I installed today, and so far it isn't showing the slightest interest in speaking Wingding.

The bad news is I was unable to port over any files, including my saved games, due to a combination of the above mentioned font problems and the failure about 2 months ago of my old CD drive. Therefore this adventure has come to an end.

I regret it. I hadn't decided whether to stick with this, go back to my Royals dynasty, or (eep) try to do both...but it certainly wasn't the plan to end both of them so abruptly.

I'm going to take a few days to try and set things up as I'd like, then I'll be back to try yet again.

Thanks for your continued support, folks, and sorry about this.

    Re: A Fresh Start (Indians)

Really sorry to hear about your computer problem and hate to see your dynasties go bye-bye but they might be recoverable. Since you got problems with Windows, the best way to get the files you want off of your old computer is to remove the hard drive and hook it up as a secondary hard drive on another computer and use that computer to move the files off. As long as the hard drive isn't bad, the files should be accessible and you can copy them to a USB flash drive or CD. It takes a little computer knowledge to do but should be able to get your files for you.

But you might not be able to do this on your new computer, your old computer probably has the older IDE drives and the new computer will probably come with Serial ATA but any computer repair shop should be able to help you with this.
