    Sure.

    Again, stop.
Stop what? Stop jumping in and making snarky comments every time somebody uses a stat you don't like.

We know what WARP is based off. We don't know the exact formula. I don't care to know your exact formula, but I'd love to know what it uses, and frankly, what you said above, it still gives no indication to how Sandberg would rank higher than Alomar, considering Alomar had more longevity, and they were contemporaries, and Alomar was better. Never mind the fact that comparing players to the other players on their team is a horrible way to evaluate who was a better player.

Same thing. That's a horrible way to evaluate who is a better player.

I don't think you're attempting to deceive anybody, nor am I implying that you are. I think you're just trying to start arguments by jumping in whenever anybody uses a stat you dislike and making things up just to be clever, not to deceive anybody.

But, rather than making claims about something I'm not doing, why don't you actually, you know, prove that those numbers aren't just random numbers off the top of your head? How was Ryne Sandberg better than Roberto Alomar?

So your "scale" uses measures like home run titles?

And it weighs power more than getting on-base?

You know what, I'm dropping this conversation. I have a hard time believing this ridiculous formula even exists, and any formula based on comparing players to those in his own organization deos not let you compare players in any accurate manner.

In other words, it has absolutely no value in comparing players to each other.

Putting any weight to the players in a given player's own organization makes it so that the stat has little use in comparing two players with one another.

    Idiot

I actually subscribed somewhat to this analysis. It has been some years however since I actually used it for player review. If I recall, Paul O'Neill was very highly rated as he led the team in water cooler damaging temper tantrums, displaying his grit..determination..and desire. This was the only analysis I could find that came close to measuring that kind of stuff.

As deep a layer as you've dumped in this thread, somebody needs to fling it, or better yet, start shoveling it.

I've got that covered--in fact, I feel a bit guilty of how much I've laughed at you while reading this thread.
