This is mindboggling. First, Calgary was giving Odom to Laredo for their best player. Then, Laredo offered cash, but that was an insult. So, they offered bats. Calgary was originally getting the BEST player....but settled for bats. And that's not insulting?Odom said he was supposed to be traded for Laredo's best hitter. But when that player balked at moving to Calgary, the bats entered the deal.
Laredo offered cash for Odom, but Young said that was "an insult."
This is priceless.
They're probably re-thinking it and will realize they did it backwards, accepting the bats. D'oh!
weird... it's like reading a piece from The Onion...

Lol, with the amount of Vipers game's I go to and how frequently the players give away there bats thereis a good chance i will end up getting one of those![]()
This is now the new trade record low. If you remember, Nigel Thatch was traded in the Northern League for 60 case of Budweiser in 2006.
What would you rather have, bats or beer?
Oh and 10 bats at $69 a pop = $690
60 cases of Bud at $18 = $1,080.
Beer!
