    Re: Uh...my post count.

I agree with what ohms said for the most part. However, I do think that post count can have some advantages. It does tell you whose more active, and generally, the most active numbers are more knowledgable and credible than less active/new members. That's obviously not always the case, but it's a good general rule of thumb. However, of course, that all becomes null when post-padding is allowed, as post counts than tell you nothing.

    Nah, not really.

What Dee has been (mostly) doing is to remove the sub-forum, and the posts those sub-forums contain, for BMO leagues that are no longer running. See, the forums are linked to the BMO server. There were several old leagues sitting around with 1-5 members in them, abandoned, and a few new members would join BMO and then join one of those leagues. Since those leagues don't actually have anyone running them, they would never simulate, and the new users would often simply quit after a couple of weeks of seemingly no activity. After several members brought this problem up Dee and Clay started going in and removing those leagues. Since the league is linked to the forum though, the league sub-forum has to be deleted as well.

It seems as though Dee has taken the opportunity to prune some of the post padding threads as well, which is where the vast majority of the complaints about large drops in post count are coming from.

Anyway, one nice side benefit to all of this is that the forums seem to be much more responsive now, which is certainly nice!

There are better ways to indicate activity though... once everything calms down I can recommend some light (and possibly even heavy) mods to Dee.

Well at least with all these post padding threads no one is ripping on Clay to fix things in BM! Kind of distracted a lot of activity in the bugs thread.
