    Brian Sabean is Delusional

    Thanks to ShysterBall:

"I think we've come a long way," Sabean said. "When you consider some of our challenges in spring training and some of the question marks, we've got to be considered one of the most improved teams in baseball."
    LOL.

    LOL.

    That's all I can say.

well they are on pace to only lose 97 games and not be in last! which, sadly, is far better than anyone expected.

Defying odds in there favor once again, no crazed fan has killed Barry Zito yet!

So all in all a bit above expectations.

That's entirely possible....being one of the most improved teams in baseball when your an old club that just got a year older and added Aaron Rowand, isn't.

No, it's not possible, not at all.

Yes, it is. Good players go through periods of ineffectiveness. Sometimes, a whole group of good players on one team go through a period of ineffectiveness all at once.

Yeah boy, over a hundred mil for a mop-up guy. Only GM that's shown more ingenuity is one Mr. Jim "Can I unload any more of my talent any more cheaply" Bowden of my beloved but ever terrible Nats.

True. But the thing is that the Mariners' players all, how do I put this?, suck? (Except for Felix, Bedard and Ichiro)

Well, yes, he's wrong in that case, but he's not saying something that's flatout impossible!

Only thing Sabean has been very impressive on was that he was able to pile some impressive prospects lately.

    Who?

Pitching prospect-wise, he's done well...but the Giants haven't developed a position player in an extremely long time...

Generally, you need to develop both position players and pitchers in your own system in order to run a well-sustained team. Of course, there's many ways to win...

Sabean hasn't only poorly developed position players...he flatout HASN'T, which is worrisome.
