Question Re: Ten Notable Baseball Suicides

Thanks, Ohms, but then, why would the "swing away" menu display both options("bunt to hit" and "suicide squeeze") in that situation? To me, such a display means that one option differs, however slightly, from the other.

I tried the "suicide squeeze" -in "Player" mode, guy at 3rd, less than 2 out- - this morning... once it worked, once, not.

Just to complicate matters, within the "swing away" menu, also, is a "safety squeeze" and a "sacrifice bunt".

I can see that I'll have to do some research on these hitting tactics...question is, how far do these real life ploys relate to those nominated in GM?

This works well, most of the time, but would I be better off employing the suicide squeeze in this situation?
In Baseball, the suicide squeeze means that the runner at 3rd breaks for home on the pitch and the batter tries to bunt. If the batter misses the bunt or pops up, the batter will be out trying to go home. Almost any bunt that goes more than 5 feet from home plate and isn't caught will score the runner.

Safety squeeze means the batter takes a big secondary lead, but does not break for home until he sees the ball has been bunted successfully.

Bunt to hit is a bunt attempt where the batter is trying to just get the ball past the pitcher or down one of the lines in an attempt to reach base.

Thank you, SirK....I have a much better idea now...this will make "small ball" even more interesting...
