Why do I hate espn?

They actually expect me to pay for such insight as this gem of an article. They give each team new draft grades for 2005 NFL draft based on how the players have performed thus far & are now projected to do in the future. As tempting as it is to have an "expert" tell me things I already know (like the Chargers and Cowboys getting an A), I believe I'll actually pass on paying for this garbage.


Seriously, how has another network not stepped up & challenged these talentless hacks from bristol yet? I know very few serious sports fans who watch espn for anything other than PTI. It would appear I have to blame SI & FSN just as much as espn for not providing a real challenge.

Time for Frank Seele to Go

ESPN's baseball panel of experts has called for the firing of manager Frank Selee of the Boston Beaneaters.

"There was a lot of hope that Frank Selee could turn the Beaneaters around," said Chris Berman, host of baseball tonight. "What a disappointment. For Boston fans, it's just more misery."

"Face it," said Joe Morgan, "you have to have pro experience to manage a team of professionals. Stats aren't a substitute for on the field judgment, and Selee is lacking it. It's time for him to go."

"I agree with Chris and Joe," said baseball analyst Orel Hershiser.

ESPN baseball analyzed Seele's first choices for the Beaneaters and examined how they're currently doing with their present teams.

Insider is actually pretty cool. I wouldnt pay anything extra for it, but since I get ESPN the Magazine I get insider for free.

Heh, that's the opposite for me. I bought the subscription so that I could get Insider, and then ESPN the Magazine comes with that, and I usually just throw it away. Maybe skim it. I hate magazines that are 80% ads and 20% actual articles.

My girlfriend (oh man, I almost said wife) works for the advertising part of all those magazines...I cant believe how much money it is, just to put in huge ads that I dont even look at

I enjoyed The Sporting News while I had a free year of it. It had mostly articles, with some ads. I don't mind the ads, but ESPN is just like, a book of ads. I think that even the articles look like ads at first glance, so I just skip over them. It's horrendous. The format is just bad.
