There are already more than 100 players on the DL.
A week and a half into the season, 100+ players on the DL. That's over 3 players per team, and it's not even mid-April!
And people say Mogul has too high of an injury rate!![]()

heh
yea, that's what I was thinking earlier today too...
You insist that there is something a machine cannot do. If you will tell me precisely what it is that a machine cannot do, then I can always make a machine which will do just that! -J. von Neumann
LOL I like how real life is imitating BM!
But - to be fair (ignoring all previous arguments of total players in the organization as a ratio to those on the DL, which is still a valid issue), these players are starting the season on the DL. They had injuries during spring training, or are doing extended minor league rehab, or getting themselves game-ready. Their 'DL' status might as well have started in February.
If you try to emulate these numbers only, with injuries starting (sometimes) during spring training and occuring predominantly during the regular season, then it won't quite playout realistically; I don't know about you, but I've never started a season with guys on the DL in BBM. They always get injured a week, a month, two months in. The overall numbers may end up being the same, but the severity is more because of the timing being right mid-season, and not pre-season. Just a thought from the other side.
In other life-immitating-BM news, Curt Schilling doesn't like playing in Boston; he would feel more comfortable on the Retired.
Of course then you have the Yankees who have lost Jeter and Posada and NOT put them on DL yet.
Players do get injured during spring training in Mogul, and some do start the season on the DL. The issue with Mogul always was that the injuries were unevenly spread out due to medical expenses, so some teams got hit extremely hard while others never got injuries. That's been corrected and made adjustable, though.
Hmm...maybe it's a relic from BM07 that changed somewhere down the line? Ok, if the frequency is realistic and spread out similar to real life, including spring training injuries and such (now), then you can disregard. I'll eventually get geared up enough to buy a new version...
I don't recall if spring training injuries were in BM07. I actually think they were added in one of the 2k8 patches.
The spread of injuries was due to the medical expenses having a large effect on the injuries to teams. In real life, there isn't THAT Much difference between teams and their injury rates, and the differences are largely due simply to the luck of the draw rather than failures in the medical staff. With the addition of the Medical Expenses Effect slider, and the adjustment of how much the medical staff affects the injuries, I do believe the injury spread is more realistic.
Realistic!?
1.5 weeks into the season, 100 people on the DL?
Who the heck designed this simulator!?

In early June 1985, the Cubs were still in first place, battling the St. Louis Cardinals and the New York Mets for the division. However, Rick Sutcliffe, Steve Trout, Scott Sanderson and Dennis Eckersley (their top 4 starters) all were injured, and the Cubs went on a 13-game losing streak that effectively eliminated them from contention.
