Dude, Ron Fairly is one of the worst announcers ever, good thing Dave Neihaus was up there..... Ron Fairly was worse than Joe Morgan.

I dunno, going by some of those quotes, you might be judging ol' Ron unfairly.

At least he'd be good for a laugh, much like the later days of Harry Caray. In his last few years Harry was doing good if he could correctly identify which team the Cubs were playing, but he was still a blast to listen to.

The mute button sounds far better than Joe Morgan.

Harry was always good for a laugh especially after 4 or 5 Budweisers.

I agree with BC, intentionally, or not, Ron's selected comments were amusing...Fairly bears out my contention that the onus of communication lies with the recipient. I think most of us can figure out Ron's meaning..

I'll say it again, Boom. You have to admit his call of when Ken Griffey Jr. hit a homerun in his eighth consecutive game was really good.

Selected comments are not that bad, but when you listen to him every day, you start to wonder if he knows anything about baseball. I know he played in the majors, and he had a decent career...but he is like Joe Morgan, or Dusty Baker...they may have the talent to hit the ball, but man......(I'll leave it at that without insulting their intelligence)

He did have some good calls, but I don't remember that one... just all the random commentary that really pissed me off.
