    Alomar a hall of famer?

Roberto Alomar was raised to the level of excellence at the Rogers Centre friday night. I'm lazy and dont want to post his career numbers so yah, do you guys think he should be in the Hall?

    I'd say yes.

    Roberto Alomar's Career milestones
In his career, Alomar established remarkable milestones for a second baseman, including:

making twelve straight All-Star teams (1990-2001)
winning a record ten gold gloves at second base (1991-96,1998-2001)
    batting over .300 nine times (1992-1997, 1999-2001)
    posting an OBP over .400 five times (1992-93, 1996, 1999, 2001)
scoring 100 or more runs six times (1992-93, 1996, 1999-2001)
driving in 100 or more runs twice (1999, 2001)
    stealing 30 or more bases eight times (1989, 1991-93, 1995, 1999-2001)
and winning four Silver Slugger awards (1992, 1996, 1999-2000)

i'll be the first to say that i don't know nearly as much about bball as a good number of the posters on here, but it seems to me that major hallmark of what makes a player a hall of famer is if that player was dominant at his position or not?

to me, alomar was pretty much the premier 2b in the majors for a solid decade and i have a tough time seeing him not get him due to that

Can you name a better second baseman from the 1990's?

No question. So long as he doesn't keep Jim Ed Rice out...

His best seasons came after the turn of the millenium. Plus, he's a bad defender.

Yeah, now he is, but that shouldn't be held against him in the Hall of Fame discussion (as long as he still plays enough, which, with 9 consecutive seasons of 130+ games, he has played enough)...
