    The Full Opening Day

So ESPN has a full slate of games planned today, running from 1 through late night, follow by baseball tonight...Except for a little break while I go to class from 3-4:15, I'll be watching it all. On ESPN.com, Rob Neyer's going to attempt to break Bill Simmons SportsNation chat record of roughly 7 hours. The plan is for Neyer to start at 1, and go straight through Baseball Tonight, which, barring extra innings, should end around 1, for a 12 hour ultra-marathon chat.

I'll be following it all. Baseball is back

You need MLB Extra Innings and a DVR. That combo is great. I probably caught 140 Cardinal games last year, would have been more, but I went on vacation to the woods for a couple weeks
Please make at least a small effort to stay on topic.

Can anyone give me the reason why Washington and Atlanta only played the one game last night, and now ATL is playing Pittsburgh and WAS is playing Philly? Seems kind of odd to me.

That's odd. I have no idea the reasoning behind that.

Probably ESPN and MLB's doing. They wanted to show off Nationals Park but figured the Braves would be a better TV draw as an opponent.

Over the reigning NL East champs with the last two MVPs? Maybe.

The Braves are a national draw because of prior exposure on TBS and umpteen division titles in a row. The Phillies are not.

Nationals wanted to kick the season off with atleast one game at home. They requested it after the schedule was already released. The Phillies were unwilling to switch their series from home to away so Washington negotiated with Atlanta to play one game.

    Wow.

Gagne just blew the Brewers game. 3 run lead. 3 batters later, tie game.

It's been a nice showing by Carlos Gomez so far. A double, scored on a Mauer single in his 1st AB. 2nd AB bunt single and then he steals 2nd. He sure looks like an exciting player, hopefully he can keep this up!
