Kristic is a solid player, and probably the best option of the 3... none of them are special. They really need a C, and that is why they couldn't win with Kidd, Carter, and Jefferson! They need some inside help badly, which they will be able to get next year with the cap relief.

Krstic is coming off major knee surgery. He's clearly the best choice, it's just that his performance this year hasn't reflected that. Possibly a health issue. Maybe he's not 100% back yet?

Well it does matter for the team. Magloire isn't a good player now and won't become one in the future. Krstic needs playing time to get back from his injury to regain his former quality play. Boone is a young center who doesn't seem to have any offensive value, probably Tyson Chandler lite.
