Asianinvasion, would you mind putting which users chose the teams in each series post?

Maybe. The Soriano for Ramirez trade was horrible too.

Jason Veratec...however you spell his name. Leader of the Red Sox...an Derek Lowe who had some good seasons....

Ramirez was a bad trade, but we lost two quality guys for this one....

But also, Lowe and Varitek weren't proven Major Leaguers, Soriano was.

It was also a pretty bad trade when you sent david ortiz to minnesota for Dave Hollins

Those '27 Yankees are the team beat (imo) ... I just hope someone can take them out before the 1961 Yankees go against them ... lol

Excellent idea ... enjoying reviewing the results!

The Lowe/Varitek one is worse in hindsight. The Soriano one was worse overall because it was quite obvious that it was a stupid trade.

I can't say that was a bad trade. Even Minnesota gave up on David ORtiz after we traded him...

That's another trade that is bad only in hindsight.

But it wasn't a bad trade, not even in hindsight. We traded him something like 1996 or something, then he gets good 6 years later. Awesome 7 years later, I would make that trade 10times out of 10. Hollins was a great player off the bench. Who would know that 7 years later Ortiz is one of the best 1st baseman in baseball. Shoot, even Minnesota didn't know 5 years later...

November 28, 1992: Signed by the Seattle Mariners as an amateur free agent.

September 13, 1996: Sent by the Seattle Mariners to the Minnesota Twins to complete an earlier deal made on August 29, 1996. The Seattle Mariners sent a player to be named later to the Minnesota Twins for Dave Hollins. The Seattle Mariners sent David Ortiz (September 13, 1996) to the Minnesota Twins to complete the trade.

December 16, 2002: Released by the Minnesota Twins.

January 22, 2003: Signed as a Free Agent with the Boston Red Sox.

Well, that's what I'm saying. Nobody knew that Ortiz would become one of the best hitters in the game, which is why, only when viewed in hindsight, does the trade look foolish.
