My bad, I didnt see that you guys have mentioned this in the Joe Kennedy thread.
Sport is now a professional job & ANYONE in sport must behave in the ways that employees/employers react, simple as that
I think this shows why Tank Johnson was justified in carrying a gun. His bodyguard was murdered, but Tank wasn't because he was armed. Instead of being killed, Tank Johnson was released by his ungrateful team (the Bears) and suspended 8 games by the NFL.
ESPN did a piece on this about a year ago, but it is still a very important issue, as this shooting shows us. I hope they send the shooter away to jail for the rest of his life and the NFL apologizes to Tank Johnson.

Yeah, I rather be suspended for 8 games than dead.
a person on parole is not allowed to carry a gun, be around a gun under no circumstances. The Bears had also told him not to get involved with the police again for any reason and what does the stupid fool do, gets pulled over for speeding and a possible DUI.
And now Sean Taylor has passed away.....Sad. Apparently someone broke in and shot him.....7 hours of surgery and he died.
I do not think that is exactly what he was implying but I could be wrong, I think he was saying that Mr. Taylor should have behaved in such a way as to not have run ins with the law, period. Not that he deserved to be shot. Does anyone besides me find it peculiar that someone tried to break into Mr. Taylors home just 8 days prior?
Be more concerned with your character than your reputation, because your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are .
Yeah, there are some reports now that, in the earlier breakin, they left a knife on his bed. Seems like there might have been something more than a breakin going on here. It's a really sad situation, especially since the guy leaves a child behind.
LLP : The Bears were more than justified in dumping Tank. He didn't just have one unregistered gun, he had a friggin house full of illegal assault weapons, oh, and the guy he was renting his basement out to was a drug dealer using the basement as his place of business. Meanwhile, Tank's KIDS are living in this house. then, he gets out, is on probation, and gets popped for driving drunk. That has NOTHING to do with guns WHATSOEVER, and is simply an indication Tank is an idiot (I think anyone selfish enough to get popped for DUI is a twit). All of this after some prior run ins in his college days.
This is terrible news. Sean was one of my favorite players and I really enjoyed watching him play football and lay guys out. My condolences go out to his family, especially his daughter who is now going to have to grow up without her father.

RIP Sean Taylor
i think it is because of the injuries they suffer. The human knee is a very crucial part of the body. It withstands the most load out of any joint. While knee holds the weight of the body at rest, the pressures in motion are much greater. In fact, the body can support as much as five times the body weight when a person is in motion. For everyday instances, this can be quite a lot of stress put into two joints. Compound this over the years, and the knee turns out to be a remarkable feat of evolutionary ingenuity. Despite countless years of biological craftiness, the knee does eventually breakdown. For most people, this occurs over the age of 65. The cartilage and the chondrocytes that once smoothed over rough surfaces between the tibia and femur deteriorate over time and leave the person hobbling and practically immobile. And this is for people who live relatively quiet lives. The worst debilitation occurs in athletes. For most athletes, speed and quickness are essential to a winning season. An athlete must be agile and quickly change position running from one direction to the next. Some athletes go head to head and exert tremendous amounts of energy trying to push back, pull, or take down the opposing player. Marathon and cross country runners endure the repetitive stress of running incredible distances. Athletes place very high demands on their knees and dramatically increase the risk of injury at not only the present but well after the athlete stops competing. One perfect example is "Broadway" Joe Namath.

Interesting theory. I wonder if the police are looking into it... Sean Taylor may have been shot because his knees, like those of many athletes, are vulnerable to injury. Hmmm.....
