Well, there's a reason the defending world champions are going to start a rookie in CF next year. Yes Ellsbury did very well in limited work last year, but Coco has been given every opportunity and although he's good defensively, his horrific arm cost the sox a few games last year and his weak bat cost a few more.

I like Coco, don't get me wrong......yes his contract is a good value but Andruw Jones is being seriously underrated. He had an off year last year, and even that off year Coco would dream about. Jones is a better defender and has an arm as well. Coco's in a larger market, which may be why people think he's a superior defender as they get to see him more. Jones has all the hardware (gold gloves) though.

People think Coco's a superior defender because he has ridiculous range, and all the numbers to back it up. Jones arm is better, yes, but his range isn't what it used to be. And the "hardware" is meaningless. Derek Jeter has three Gold Gloves, but is one of the worst defensive shortstops in the majors.

Plus, sometime Jones doesn't always give 100%, Cox always had to give Jones a reality check(benching or pulled in middle of a game) every once in awhile. I believe Jones is alot more selfish than A-rod.

I liked Coco a lot in Cleveland, but they weren't playing him in center field too much. His arm is less of a liability in left, and he covers an insane amount of ground for a left fielder.

And, yes, Andruw Jones has been known to just 'zone out' at times on his team, and I think that's one reason we really haven't hurt too much of a clamor about him so far this offseason.
