    Rollins is NL MVP

    http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?...=.jsp&c_id=mlb

I knew it was coming, but I have to agree with my 3 favorite ESPN columnists that David Wright was the real MVP. Sorry, I'm not going to lower a player's value just because the rest of his team failed. If the Mets had made the playoffs, I'm sure that Wright would've won MVP, and the fact that the rest of his team sucking while he continued to hammer the ball likely cost him the MVP is a travesty. The only things that Rollins did better than Wright were steal more bases - and even there, it was only a trivial 7 more, and hit triples.

Wright wasn't even able to draw more votes than Prince Fielder.

It's just a shame that the value of players gets changed based on what the rest of their team does.

Always has been that way, and likely always will be that way. The same people that vote for the awards are the ones who then turn around and first start complaining about how voting is so screwed up. Kind of weird, huh?

What a load of ****. Holliday took his team to the World Series... you don't get much more MVP than that. Rollins had guys like Ryan Howard and Chase Utley around him to help that team win... who did Holliday have other than Helton? That's right, a bunch of rookies!

PS. Of your course ESPN (Eastern Sports Propaganda Network) writers will write that David Wright should be the MVP.

Yeah, but Rollins made a statement syaing that "they were the team to beat." He never stood down about saying that, and despite all the injuries the Phils had, J-Rol was right "they are the team to beat!"

Yep, obviously they're going to go with the guy from New York instead of the guy from Philadelphia, which as everyone knows is located somewhere on the west coast.

The award is voted on before the playoffs. It's based strictly on the regular season.

Only 3 did, and that has nothing to do with east coast bias. It's because he actually was the best player in the NL.

Just as a player shouldn't be discounted because his teammates sucked, he shouldn't be discoutned because his teammates were really good.

So? That makes him more valuable?
